1 to 1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef **
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 package dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs or cornflake crumbs
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl (with your hands) until just blended through. Don’t over-mix, or the meat won’t be as tender. Form 4-6 patties from the meat mixture.
BBQ, grill on a flat top, or saute in large skillet until cooked to the degree you like. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato, and whatever condiments you like best.
** NOTE: I use 96/4 extra-lean ground sirloin, so also add 1 TB extra-virgin olive oil to compensate for the lack of fat.
TIP: I like to spray both sides of the burgers with olive oil non-stick spray before putting on the BBQ grill (so they don’t stick)
