Mardi Gras BOURBON SUGARED PECANS
1 pound pecan halves …..….....1 egg white
1 TB BOURBON ~or~ PECAN WHISKEY
1 tsp. cinnamon........................1 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar ……………….…... 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
green, purple & gold colored or sparkling/sanding sugar (I actually used edible gold glitter, since it's a truer gold than gold sugar)

Preheat oven to 300. Line a rimmed large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Beat egg white with whiskey & vanilla extract until foamy. Mix pecans in egg white mixture until coated. Mix together cinnamon, salt & sugar in a plastic bag ~ put coated pecans into bag & toss until well covered with cinnamon mixture.
Bake for 15 minutes. Then turn the nuts over with a metal spatula. Sprinkle bands of gold, green and purple across the nuts. Bake for another 15 minutes. ~ Take out and put the pan on a rack to cool. Break the nuts apart. Put them in candy dishes ~ or as gifts in little plastic gift bags (at the Dollar Store) or pint zip-lock baggies. PERFECT GIFT FOR MEN!
