Basic recipe uses 1 apple, for 1 serving * just increase the ingredients for more
1 apple ~ cut in half and core cut out (red are sweeter and get softer when cooked)
1 tsp. brown sugar..................................................1 TB butter, cut into small cubes
2 tsp. graham cracker crumbs...............................cinnamon
Put the apple halves into a small microwaveable dish. Sprinkle with the brown sugar, cinnamon and graham cracker crumbs. Put the dots of butter on top. Put a scant 1/4" water in the bottom of the dish. (NOTE: You can also slice the apples into the bottom of the dish; then sprinkle with everything ~ if you don't want apple halves)
Cover lightly with waxed paper. Cook in microwave on HIGH for 6-8 minutes, or until apples are soft.
Eat as-is for a fruit side dish ~ Put a dollop of whipped topping or vanilla ice cream on top for a dessert. Top with vanilla yogurt for BREAKFAST ** Serves 1
