This recipe can easily be doubled to make 8-9 donuts
Homemade Baked Buttermilk Sugar Donuts
Sugar or sugar-free
2 TB vegetable oil……………………...….. 1/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg…………………………………………...... 1/4 tsp. salt
6 TB sugar or regular white Splenda
1/8 tsp. nutmeg…………………………...….1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda (only if using Splenda)
1/2 tsp. vanilla…………………………..……1/2 cup all-purpose flour
For the sugar coating
2 TB sugar or regular white Splenda

Preheat oven to 350. Spray donut pan with nonstick baking spray.
Whisk together oil, buttermilk, eggs, sugar, salt, baking powder, nutmeg and vanilla in a large bowl until combined. Whisk in flour until smooth. Fill donut pan up just about to the top (I filled 5 about 3/4-full in photos; and will do only 4 filled to the top when I make them again).
Bake donuts for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool for 5 minutes, then remove donuts from pan.
Put sugar/Splenda into a plastic bag. Drop the donuts (one at a time) into the bag; hold tightly closed and shake lightly to coat. Makes 4-5 donuts
