GARLIC HERB BREAD
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 TB mayonnaise
2 tsp EACH chopped fresh rosemary AND oregano *OR* 1 tsp EACH dried rosemary AND oregano
1 tsp chopped fresh BASIL *OR* 1/2 tsp dried basil
1 heaping TB crushed garlic
1 loaf French Bread, sliced horizontal
In a large bowl, beat butter and mayonnaise until blended. Stir in herbs and garlic. Spread over cut sides of bread. Wrap in a large sheet of foil, so the top is open ~ spread some of the butter mixture on top of the loaf; put on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden hot and bubbly. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
