BUTTERSCOTCH TOFFEE SWIRL BROWNIES
1 cup flour……………………………….............…3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder………………...............…..1-1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled & cut into pieces
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate (3 squares), chopped
1/2 tsp espresso powder (instant coffee will work, but not as good)
3 eggs…………………………………….............…1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup butter brickle bits (i.e. Heath Bar bits ~ baking aisle of grocery)
Butterscotch Swirl:
3/4 cups butterscotch morsels/chips
1/4 cup flour……………………………….2 oz. cream cheese, room temp

Heat oven to 350. Line a 13"x9" pan with aluminum foil. Spray with nonstick baking spray. Set aside.
Melt butter in a large bowl in the microwave oven on HIGH for about 45 seconds. Remove from heat & stir in the chocolate and espresso powder until smooth. ~ Stir in sugar. Beat in eggs, baking powder, salt and vanilla until blended. ~ Stir in flour mixture and brickle bits until combined. Scrape into prepared baking dish.
Prepare swirl: Melt butterscotch morsels in a medium size bowl in the microwave for about 1 minute; stir until smooth. ~ Whisk/beat in flour and cream cheese until blended. Drop by TB over top of brownies; smooth over top, then swirl with knife to blend mixtures in a marble pattern. (Just stick a knife down into it and swirl it back & forth).
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. If desired, spread or drizzle the chocolate glaze over the warm or cool brownies. Cool brownies completely in pan and cut into bars.

CHOCOLATE GLAZE:
1 cup powdered sugar.......................................................1 TB unsweetened cocoa powder (dark is best)
1 TB. softened butter.........................................................1-2 tsp. chocolate syrup
liquid (brewed coffee ~ chocolate milk ~ cream, milk or liquid coffee creamer)
Put the powdered sugar into a small bowl, and whisk in the cocoa powder, butter and chocolate syrup. Gradually add whichever liquid you choose (1 tsp. at a time) until it's a thick, smooth drizzle consistency.
