Flaky GARLIC HERB TWISTS
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted..................................................3/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. dried oregano.....................................................................1 tsp. Kosher salt
2 tsp. fresh chopped parsley (or 1 tsp. dried)
1 tube refrigerated biscuits (I used Grand's Flaky, but any biscuits are good ~ even buttermilk)
Optional: 2 TB. fresh grated Parmesan or Italian cheese blend
***
Preheat oven to 400. Line a baking sheet with foil and give a quick spritz of nonstick spray.
In a small bowl, whisk together butter, Parmesan (if using), garlic powder, oregano, parsley and salt; set aside.
If you're using Grand's biscuits, there are 8 big ones in the tube, so gently pull each one in half. (If you're using smaller biscuits with 12-16 in the tube, use the whole biscuit.) Slather both sides of the biscuits with the butter mixture; then pull and twist them and put them on the baking sheet. (They'll try to shrink up when you set them down, so be sure to pull them as much as possible {without breaking} when you twist them. Don't worry if they shrink back into "knots", instead of twists ~ they'll still taste just as good!)
If you have extra butter mixture, smear it over the top of each biscuit. Bake until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes. Best served as soon as possible (or you can reheat them, wrapped in a paper towel, for about 45 seconds in the microwave).
