1 small jar strawberry jam
flour ............ powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. ** Put the jam into a small bowl and stir with a fork to get it smoother (and easier to spread) **
Roll the log of sugar cookie dough out onto a floured surface. Spread with the jam. Fold the dough over and knead a few times. Then roll the swirled dough out again (you'll probably need to re-flour your surface). Cut with cookie cutter and put about 2" apart on baking sheets.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until just starting to turn light brown. Let sit on the pan for a couple of minutes and remove to rack or paper to cool. Dust with powdered sugar.
Makes about 2-3 dozen.
