PEANUT BUTTER CUP Halloween SPIDER COOKIES
1 pkg. yellow or butter cake mix...............................................2 eggs
1 stick (8 oz) butter, melted........................................................1/2 cup flour
abut 1/2 to 3/4 cup mini Reese's peanut butter baking bits
***
About 30 Reese's miniature Peanut Butter Cups (unwrap completely before starting recipe)
tube of black decorator icing......................................................package of small candy eyes
***
Preheat oven to 350. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
Mix the cake mix, butter, eggs, butter and flour in electric mixer bowl until well blended (make sure scrape down the sides and get any dry mixture left on bottom of bowl). Add in the mini Reese's baking bits at a low speed.
I used a small cookie scoop (about 3/4 full) and put about 12 cookies on each sheet. Bake for 10-11 minutes, or until firm on top and barely golden brown on the bottom. IMMEDIATELY gently twist a peanut butter cup top onto the top of each cookie.
I now removed them from the cookie sheet onto paper or a rack ~ then gently stick 2 candy eyes onto each now-slightly-melted peanut butter cup. Let them cool
After they're cooled, go back and pipe 8 legs on each cookie with the decorator icing.
I got about 28-30 cookies, but that depends how large you make them.
