First came oils (when I was a teenager and actually had several shows) ~ then acrylics (because they dry faster and I had little kids to worry about then). Unfortunately, over the years I have very few of my paintings. Actually the water painting is all that we have, as I sold a small one that I'd done of a little girl flying a kite in a field of daisies when we were selling stuff to move to this smaller house (modeled after my daughter Heather). My aunt has 2 of my paintings in her room at her Assisted Living. The snowy lodge is a painting that I did for friends for Christmas one year. ** We sold a house in Villa Park (Southern California) in the mid-90s where the buyers made it a condition of sale that I included 5 or 6 of my paintings (mostly still life and a couple of clowns). And it's possible that my ex-husband still has one (it's his snowy lodge that I painted the gift for).

 In several houses, I would just paint on the walls! Billy got used to seeing me walk around with paints and brushes, looking for somewhere to paint. Then came TOLE PAINTING ~ which I could finish fairly quickly ~ but leads to having more "stuff" to find places for!

And we had some leftover kitchen cabinet doors from one house, so I decided to paint on those too (just in case I didn't already have too much stuff to hang up)
