How I PACKAGE COOKIES to SHIP **

I use styrofoam boxes (you can use boxes you have from take-out or "doggy" bags ~ or get some tin boxes with lids at the Dollar Store ~ even cookie tins would work, but square or rectangle are better than round. **

(1) I line the boxes first with a long strip of saran wrap; then put in a bakery tissue (or use wax paper) on the bottom. *

(2) Cut strips from bakery tissue or wax paper, and wrap each cookie. Pack them tightly in rows in the boxes. *

(3) Put another piece of bakery tissue or wax paper on top (and stuff some in the sides, if your cookies aren't packed in there tightly). Bring up the ends of the saran wrap over the top; and I put a paper towel on top (to absorb any moisture and for extra packing). *

(4) Close the lid and tape it down. Stick the box into a heavy zip-lock baggie. Seal and tie with ribbon. (I also put gift cards and a candy cane on top of mine.  I put an envelope of hot cocoa mix or apple cider mix under the card too). * If it's a birthday gift, I'll tie an inexpensive party blower on top. **

(5) Wrap the whole thing with bubble wrap, and put it into a grocery plastic bag (if there's an air pocket in there when you tie the plastic bag, that's even better). *

(6) Usually the boxes will fit into a Zone A flat rate priority box (free from the post office ~ you can order all boxes on-line and your postman will deliver them). I'll stuff extra grocery plastic bags around the box for packing. *

(7) You can also order a free pick-up from the Post Office (on-line). If you do it before midnight, they'll pick up the next day **

(8) You can also print your shipping labels here.  But, if you use eBay and have a Paypal account, you can print shipping labels with discounted shipping fees (and pay for them with your Paypal account ~ free tracking too).  Go to your Paypal page, under Merchant Services, then shipping **

TIPS for FREEZING BANANAS to use in BAKING **

Just throw those softer bananas into your freezer, in the peel.

When you need MASHED BANANAS to use in a recipe, let them thaw in a small bowl on the counter for at least 20-30 minutes.  Then you can snip off the end (that attaches to the bunch) and just squeeze it into the bowl.  It will be "pre-mashed" ~ if you let them sit for an hour or more, they'll actually be almost liquified.

If you don't want to wait, put the banana into your microwave for about 20 seconds on HIGH.
