1-1/2 TB Olive Oil…………………………………..1/2 pkg. Bacon (Cindy assumes that’s 1/2 lb)
1/2 cup sweet yellow onions, chopped fine
1-1/2 tsp. minced garlic…………………………….1 8-oz can tomato sauce
About 1/3 tomato sauce can of water………….…1/2 cup dark brown sugar
2 tsp mustard powder………………………………2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 14-oz can kidney beans – drained…………….....1/2 tsp. salt
1 16-oz can Bushes original baked beans
3 small/med potatoes cut in about 1” pieces
6 hot dogs: sliced 1/2 inch thick
• (you can use any kind of hot dogs or sausages I just really like it with just the hot dogs

Preheat oven to 450F.
1. Slice bacon in 1/4” pieces from end and brown over medium heat.
2. Add onion and garlic and cook for 3 minutes, until just soft.
3. Add in tomato sauce and water and cook, stirring for 1-2 minutes
4. Add brown sugar, mustard powder, Worcestershire sauce and salt.
5. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.
6. Add kidney beans; simmer on low heat for 20-30 minutes, until beans are soft.
7. Add in the baked beans and potatoes, stir gently to combine.
8. Cook for a minute just to warm up.
9. Stir the hot dog pieces into the bean mixture
10. Place skillet in oven or transfer to baking dish
11. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
Serve immediately.
Tonyta’s notes: I put this together the night before and then baked it (covered) while I was getting ready for work and then transferred to a crockpot when I got to work just to keep it warm - worked great!!!!
You can bake the potatoes a little before but I think that they hold up better not to bake them all the way.
