Don't let SOUFFLE scare you! This one is EASY, and uses a can of pie apples. Just pour the batter over the top and bake.
Great for BREAKFAST (sprinkle with powdered sugar, or maple syrup) or DESSERT (could even add a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon). It would also be a spectacular SIDE DISH, especially with ham or pork. |
2 TB butter
2 TB lemon juice
1 can apple pie filling
6 eggs, beaten
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 TB cinnamon
3 TB sugar
Preheat oven to 400. Melt butter in 9x13” pan while it’s preheating. Add lemon juice & apples ~ bake about 5 minutes.
Beat eggs and salt until frothy. Alternately add milk and flour to eggs, in thirds, beating constantly. Pour into pan on top of apple mixture. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Bake for 10 min. Reduce heat to 250 and bake an additional 10 min longer, or until eggs are set and top has lightly browned.
